How often do you see a snake while taking a morning walk in a metropolitan city?
Not in Jakarta. This is the snapshot of a snake we saw in the most excluded suburb in Jakarta.
Visiting Jakarta for a short trip is very exciting. Living in Jakarta for a few years is another story. It is even more exciting!
OK, this might not be true. W are exaggerating. 😀
Living in Jakarta can be less than interesting. But hey, isn’t that true for living in any other places in this universe? Maybe even on Mars, we think.
We get our ups and downs no matter where we live. Life flows. So enjoy our ride, shall we?
Do you want to see the Jakarta we see every day? Not as a tourist, but as a local (half a local anyway).
Here are some snapshots of the Jakarta we see. We find these pictures fascinating. Hope you enjoy them, too.
The infamous Jakarta Street Cat.
The Jakarta Street Cats are everywhere. So many so that Miss D makes it a mission everyday to count how many street cats she sees in that day.
Guess how many street cats does Miss D see the most in one day? 11. Yes, 11 street cats, of different colours, different sizes, and obviously different cat-personalities.
One common thing about these cats though: most of them don’t have long tails. Their tails are simply a round, short stump. Wonder why?
What’s that next to the car? A tiny Kangaroo? No, if you enlarge the snapshot, you would find it is another cat.
This time, the cat is toileting!
But, wait, see the next snapshot:
Yep, a grown up man doing the same business. Fascinating.
Luckily he didn’t know we were snapping away. Otherwise, we might end up in a Jakarta hospital? Who knows.
See the things we do for you, our dear readers. Where is our medal? We deserve one!
Is this a temple?
No, it is not.
This is the front yard of a huge mansion in Jakarta.
Can you image how big the actual house will be? Who are those people living inside? How many maids do they have?
Questions, questions, questions…
Want something modern?
Look at where this grand entrance leading to?An even larger mansion?
We think we are living in a mansion? We must be joking.
Egos, egos, egos…
We have none egos left after we see this grand entrance. Make people put things into perspective, isn’t it?
Don’t be shy, click to see the enlarged snapshot if you are curious. We won’t tell anyone. 😀
Hope you enjoyed these Snapshots, until next week.
